We have all been, seen or heard about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Annual Parade in the big apple. Here is the true story behind the man who created the astounding and magnificent puppets of the parade.

From the time he was a little boy, Tony Sarg loved to invent things. He loved to make things move. At the age of 6, Tony built his first marionette. So when Tony grew up and moved to London where no one was making marionettes for little children, Tony began to make puppets.. out of strings, cloth and wood. Word soon spread about his amazing marionettes. And soon, Macys asked him to design a puppet parade at the store’s window at New York City.

Thus begins a journey.. Tony’s journey in building puppets bigger and better for a parade that would become memorable. Tony’s genius, dedication and sheer fun loving nature inspired the helium balloons that are today a trademark in Macy’s Annual Parade.
