Fill your house with stacks of books, in all the crannies and all the nooks. ~ Dr. Seuss

Dog Loves Books

“When he read, he forgot that he was in a bookshop!”

A small dog loves books very much. So much that he loves its smell, the way they feel, the way it makes them forget where you are and get lost in time.

He loves books so much that he decides to open a book shop!

So he makes all the preparations to open a bookshop. He gets boxes full of books and puts them on the shelves. And then he is all set for the “Grand Opening”. On the special day, he dressed up and even took balloons with him. But then he waited and waited. No one showed up for a long time.. Then in a while an old woman came by, but she ordered tea thinking that this was  a tea shop! This was SO very disappointing to our book loving dog. But he kept on waiting. And waiting got boring. So he decides to read a book to pass the time. And then something wonderful happened! Dinosaurs appeared and then kangaroos and then aliens too. But will there be any customers in his store?

You will love “Dog Loves Books”. One can easily relate to how dog completely immerses himself into the books that he reads or to the disappointment at not having people show up at his book shop. The illustrations are simple yet charming. The pictures of all the characters from his book “appearing” are adorable. This is a perfect book to get kids excited about loving to read, to read and to imagine what hidden wonders a book might hold inside its pages.
