Best Friends Forever

Chopsticks is a super sweet book about being together as well as being independent. Its a story of two Chopsticks who are ALWAYS together! They are inseparable. Until one day one of them has an accident. The hurt chopstick needs rest and lots of it. So the other chopstick decides to “stick” close by during the healing time period. Finally, the recovering chopstick persuades his friend to go out and do things on his own. At first the chopstick is not sure. What will he do out on his own? And how will that affect their friendship?

It was refreshing to read this simple story about strength in companionship. It also encourages discovering new things on your own and not being afraid. The text has such great play on words like “No one stirred, not even Spoon” is just brilliant!
